About
The GearSphere is a 3D-printed kinetic sculpture featuring interlocking gears arranged in a spherical form. Printed as a single, fully functional piece on the Sintratec S3 using durable PA12 nylon, it requires no assembly. Its organic geometry draws inspiration from radiolaria single celled organisms known for their intricate, material-efficient skeletons. The structure is based on polyhedrons, enabling various gear configurations (such as 9, 14, or 32 teeth), combining mathematical precision with natural elegance while also being fun to spin around.
